Via Rhona
A long ride on Rhône River
The Via Rhôna is a sweeping 815-kilometer journey that follows the pulse of the Rhône River from the crystal-clear shores of Lake Geneva down to the sun-drenched Mediterranean coast. This well-paved artery stitches together an incredible contrast of landscapes, transitioning from the dramatic, snow-capped backdrop of the Alps to the legendary vineyards of the Hermitage and the ancient Roman ruins of Vienne and Arles. Cyclists glide through a sensory evolution of France, trading cool mountain air and lakeside promenades for the fragrant lavender fields and salty marshes of the Camargue, making it as much a culinary and historical pilgrimage as it is a physical one.
